Osu,

Sensei Robbie Adams, being the legend he is has a great idea! We do 20 rounds of sparring over 5 nights. You will have to pay to do this but it will come with a t-shirt (made by Budo of course) and on the last night we'll have drinks and a party!
Just wanted to get everyone thoughts. I think its a great idea, and think it will make everyone who does it a much better & stronger fighter.
Please send your thoughts!
Cheers Winnie

I thought this is a great idea, and i think i will have a crack.

Question for those of you with heaps more experience than me.

What about recovery?

For example, after last friday's fight night, my thigh took a day or two to loosen up from a corky (a junior gave me Laughing ) so i reckon fighting the very next day would have been very hard.

So how do you plan to recover the morning after ready for the night?

cold water walking? Stretching? Massage? what are some tips?

How do you full contact guy recover for the second day of fighting in a tourney?

Bren

Just to elaborate, thats 20 fights per night (to make a total of 100) over the 5 days

Participant would pay (by having sponsors donate $$) and the profits will be going to a charity (the Allanah & Madeline Foundation )

Everyone has there own recovery techniques, WINNIE for example just likes to keep fighting so he stays loose, he'll fight at a tournament, fight at the pub, fight with his brother when he gets home, usually he engages in some form of erotic stamina training at some stage of the night, gets up, goes to work, fights with his boss, comes back to training and fights.... its a great method for putting off the need to recover but unfortunately we all cant be like WINNIE, a tragedy i know........

as budo mentioned before its always good to get into the cold water and have a walk around, the footy players use ice baths for a reason!

i like a warm shower and a good stretch and i have found that a protein shake straight after the class/ tournament helps in my recovery.. also you have to keep moving otherwise you stiffen up real bad!!

No doubt it will take a lot of the kyokushin spirit we work hard to forge within ourselves to complete this task, injuries WILL happen, its just the way it is.... training, skill, stamina only gets you so far.... its spirit that will make sure you finish the job....

Yes it will be 100 rounds in total. And yes you will have to get sponsors and some of the profit will be going to our charity!

As for your other question...
Brad is right, a cold water walk does you well, however, i really do find keeping everything warm is the best way to back it up the very next day. Maybe a hot bath (with 1 or 2 beers of course) or some deep heat or even a small run before training an work. Everyone has their own way of getting over stuff but thats what works for me.
One thing to remember is too, always warm down after the fights. Don't just get changed... I'll have a chat with you next time i see you.
Hope that kinda helps you out mate.
Cheers Winnie

I think it is a great idea aswell. There would be nothing better to spend your money on.
I believe if I had a million dollars I would use it to do kyokushin only. Without interuption.
